I didn’t find my confidence overnight, it took years to develop and to feel comfortable in my own skin. Being someone who has always been the odd girl out, and overweight, I never felt good enough or pretty enough. But the truth is was I good enough and I am beautiful, I just did not let myself believe that.
What helped me find my confidence was doing things that I wanted to do to better myself. I started to surround myself with people who support, love and encouraged me. I started reading more books, drinking more tea and spent more time outside.
In times when I felt low, I would remind myself of the following:
- I am beautiful.
- I am worthy.
- I can offer love.
- I can make a difference.
- I am talented.
- I am creative.
- I am smart.
- I care about others.
- I am important.
- I love myself.
Having confidence in yourself, and finding your self-love, is not selfish. I can not love others and care for others if I don’t love myself, and I don’t take care of myself.
Find your confidence, and don’t be afraid to show it.
