Meet Heidi Muller from Bergen County, New Jersey. She is caring, hard-working, and dedicated she is also very talented and creative because she is a hairstylist!
Q: What is your title, what do you do?
A: I am a hairdresser. I color, cut, style, etc. peoples hair.
Q: How did you get into the business you are in today?
A: I started dancing at 3 and stopped at 18 and as I got older doing that I found to be very Independent in doing my hair and makeup. Ever dance recital I had helped all my friends accomplish buns, hair nets, makeup, eyelashes, you name it I did it. I’ve always had a natural talent and self-growth. When I was younger I also taught myself how to braid hair on my American girl dolls. If I do say so my self I’ll give you a killer braid!
Q: What is the biggest challenge you have faced & overcame?
A: Once I graduated high school I went to Bergen community college for the following fall semester. I wanted to get my associates in business. Well, I ended up hating it and ending up not continuing after that semester. I worked from that winter on to the following September. September of 2016 I started beauty school. Not only stopping college was a hard thing for me to do but starting in a brand new school that had competitive people and more one on one with people and clientele.
Q: What is your work motto? A: I have two motos! “Work smarter, not harder” & “It’s not what you do, it’s how you do it.”
Q: What is the best advice to give someone who is interested in beauty/hair styling?
A: The best advice I can give to someone who is interested in beauty/hairstyling is that you should never be afraid to trust your ability to talk to people, be hands-on with people.
Q: What do you like most about this industry?
A: This industry has a lot of opportunities. You don’t have to be behind a chair in this field you could be behind a photo shoot or backstage. It’s limitless.
Q: What would you want to tell your 15-year-old self?
A: I want to tell my 15-year-old self to never stop chasing things you want or want to accomplish in life
Q: What does girl power mean to you?
A: Girl power means the ability to overcome any obstacle.
Q: Anything else you want to mention?
A: To all ages never think it’s too late to change anything in your life!
